Instead every nine years the companies who grow cork trees will harvest its bark. The remove it from the trunk of the tree to then send off to be made in to cork floor tiles. Then over the next few years the cork that has been removed regrows so of course this results in a continuous supply of the material to make the flooring.

Whereas when it comes to hardwood floors of course the trees need to be cut down in order to produce it. Although new trees are then planted to replace those cut down it will take at least 40 years before these trees are mature enough to be used to create such wonderful flooring.

When it comes to cork floor tiles after the bark has been removed from the trees it is first processed to create corks for bottles of wine. What is actually used in the creation of tiles for floors is the waste left over from the initial process to make the corks for bottles. So as a result this means that far less of the cork will actually end up being thrown away. As a result you will find that cost wise buying and installing cork floor tiles is much less than you would have to spend on laying a hardwood floor.
